ALL CATS ARE BEAUTIFUL I did a little fun study with AI. Artificial intelligence and deep learning fascinate me – they are truly exciting and a lot of fun. But in the end, I feel that the hype around AI is often a bit exaggerated. The results you get straight out of AI are usually underwhelming. It takes a lot of work to turn the generated outputs into something truly good – and, of course, a strong idea. AI is like stock footage: on its own, it’s just raw material. Only through clever combinations can you create something truly unique. For me, AI is primarily another creative tool to express myself artistically. It has already revolutionized many methods and will continue to do so. But the best results come from combining AI with other techniques – using it as another tool in a mixed-media approach. Especially in pre-production or pitches, it’s a real game-changer. For example, using deepfakes to keep a consistent face in a storymatic, or quickly generating a small character that should appear in a scene. It’s not perfect, but it hints at the story and emotion. Or Quickly bringing static mockups to life – nice! Most online tools are cool, but they often lack customization to achieve truly precise results. Too much is left to chance. In the end, AI remains a powerful tool – but that’s all it is: a tool. True creativity still lies with humans. Those who use it wisely can create amazing things. But the real ideas, the emotional ones, the ones that captivate and carry momentum – they don’t come from a machine, they come from people.
